Ian McDonald is a student whose exceptional leadership, service, and perseverance make him a standout recipient of this academic scholarship. A four-year Army JROTC cadet and Battalion Commander, he led multiple competitive teams and guided his peers with strength and purpose. In the Civil Air Patrol, he serves as a Cadet Chief Master Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Emergency Services Officer, where his passion for service and emergency preparedness shines through. His experience at the National Emergency Services Academy taught him the power of purpose, teamwork, and a positive attitude—lessons he now shares with others in hopes of building a local search and rescue team. Ian gives back through community outreach, playing the bagpipes at memorial events, and four years of volunteer work, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and positively impacting all he does.
