Not My
Cancer

Seizing control over cancer through prevention, early detection, and support for TF-7294 members

The Origin of NMC

The Not My Cancer (NMC) program was born from a pattern seen across the TF-7294 community: too many late-stage cancer diagnoses after years of high-tempo operations.

In this community, resilience is who we are at our core. Not My Cancer is more than a name. It is a declaration: cancer does not define us, and we refuse to give it power.

We recognize that there is a distinct difference between choosing to live and not wanting to die – we choose to live.

Our Mission

The Not My Cancer program connects TF-7294 members with vital resources for prevention, early detection, and support.

Through proactive health advocacy, advanced screening resources, and peer support, NMC helps ensure no veteran faces cancer without a strategic advantage.

Our Impact

Every number represents a TF-7294 member or family receiving proactive screening, trusted guidance, or support during a critical time.

Members Screened

Connected with MRI screening, blood-based testing, and other early-detection resources through NMC sponsors and partners.

Members Supported

Received peer guidance, resource navigation, and other assistance related to cancer risk, diagnosis, treatment, or recovery.

From One Warrior to Another

As a cancer survivor, Ted offers real peer support — perspective, counsel, and encouragement from someone who has been through it.

Cancer affects the entire family. Ted’s wife, Kristin, named this program Not My Cancer, and together they are sharing their journey from diagnosis to cancer-free with the TF-7294 family.

You are not alone.

Cancer is a word, not a sentence.

Bridging the Gap

Traditional healthcare can fall short for high-risk veterans. NMC exists to help bridge that gap by connecting members with advanced, specialized resources.

Focus areas include:

  • Whole-body MRI screening

  • Precision medicine navigation

  • Early detection technologies

  • Support before, during, and after diagnosis
