CW5 (Ret.) Kevin Boughton
Kevin Boughton retired from the U.S. Army in 2023 as a Chief Warrant Officer Five, completing over 34 years of distinguished service, including 14 years in support of Army and Joint Special Operations organizations. Kevin is a plank holder for the Joint Special Operations Command J2 Signals Intelligence Section (SIGINT) and the Joint SIGINT Targeting and Exploitation Element (JSTEE). He remains active in the military community as a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), United States Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA), and the Military Intelligence Corps Association, and he volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention as a policy advocate. Kevin also currently serves as the National Vice President of the USAWOA.
He enlisted in 1988 from Freeport, Florida, as an Electronics Material Specialist for the Pershing II Nuclear Missile system, serving initially with the 56th Field Artillery Command in Heilbronn, Germany. Following the INF Treaty and the deactivation of Pershing II, he was reassigned to the 214th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1991, he transitioned into the Military Intelligence Corps as a Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Analyst, later serving with the 703d Military Intelligence Brigade in Hawaii, the XVIII Airborne Corps Military Intelligence Support Element, and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
After graduating from the Warrant Officer Candidate School in 1997, Kevin was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. His culminating assignment was as the Senior Technical Advisor for Signals Intelligence in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2, at the Pentagon. His additional warrant officer assignments included serving as the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command; Chief of the Military Intelligence Warrant Officer Training Branch at Fort Huachuca, Arizona; Technical Director for SIGINT Requirements and Operations at U.S. Special Operations Command; SIGINT Senior Technical Advisor for Joint Special Operations Command; the Technical Control & Analysis Chief for U.S. Army Europe’s 66th Military Intelligence Brigade; and SIGINT Officer-in-Charge for the 3d Special Forces Group (Airborne).
Throughout his career, he deployed multiple times in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Military Leadership and an Associate Degree in Administrative Management from Excelsior University, Albany, NY. After retiring, Kevin joined Accenture Federal Services as a Manager and Opportunity Director supporting the Defense and Intelligence portfolio.
Kevin has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 37 years. They have two sons: Nicholas, a U.S. Army Major and Physician Assistant, and his wife Chelsea, with their sons Patrick and Henry; and Alexander and his wife Brianna, with their daughter Autumn.
